SETECA Day 2

 

Our last day in Guatemala began as each day had, with time in the Word and prayer together. 

Then, the work continued!

Some of our team worked outside painting the front of the music building which is the first building people see when they drive onto the property!

Others continued the work in a hallway where the Practical Ministry and Counseling Departments are located.

At the end of the day, all three projects were completed and looked great! PTL!

We are so thankful for our time at SETECA this week and leave filled with blessings from our time here!

As we depart for Atlanta tomorrow thank you for continuing to pray for us, for the ministries we partnered with and the lives the Lord allowed us to touch with His love this past week in Guatemala! 

And let’s all continue praying for our Faith Promise Missionaries, Sergio & Linda Mijangos.

Serving at SETECA

 

After one night in Antigua for R&R, we arrived at our next ministry opportunity…SETECA Seminary! This is where our Faith Promise Missionaries, Sergio & Linda Mijangos serve in the Counseling Ministry.

We were greeted by our gracious hosts, Jean Sywulka and David Lara.

After getting settled in our rooms, we enjoyed lunch in the dining hall. 

Then it was time to get to work!

We scraped and painted and had a great time helping old walls look new again! The picture above is on the same hall where the Counseling Department Offices are … where Sergio & Linda serve! 

Our first day at SETECA ended with a special time of getting to know some of the leaders here who shared the history of this school and how God has worked over the years to accomplish His purposes through this ministry. 

We are so thankful to be serving here and thank you for your partnership with us! 

Last Day of Intermissions 2023…It’s All About Relationships!

Our hearts are full as we finish our time at Intermissions 2023. We have been blessed to get to know these amazing young people and will not soon forget them!

Our Anchor

 

The focus of our teaching times has been Hebrew 6:19. Our prayer has been that these young people would come away from Intermissions 2023 with a hope and confidence that they can trust God and His finished work through Christ on the Cross. And that by placing their faith in His death, burial and resurrection, they have an anchor that will hold them through any storm! 

God blessed our team with many gifted teachers who opened God’s Word and taught and encouraged these middle and high schoolers with the Truth this weekend. What a privilege!

Saturday Night Bonfire & S’mores!

 

Saturday night at Intermission’s means it’s time for our much anticipated, bonfire, and s’mores with the youth!

After careful instructions on the safe use of the wooden sticks used to hold the marshmallows over an open fire…we had a great time just “hanging out!”

We also enjoyed popcorn and juice!

We are thankful for the opportunity the Lord has given us to get to know these amazing young people during Intermissions!

“T” is for TEAM!

 

One of the many blessings of a short term mission trip is being a part of a team! During our week on the field, we pray together and spend time in the Word together…

We serve together…

We eat together…

We worship together...

We share the Gospel together…

And we play together!

Hair Cuts & Styling @ Intermissions

 

One of the service opportunities we’ve been given during our time here has been to provide haircuts and styling for the missionary families. We’re so thankful for Vivian and Shelley bringing supplies and spending time in the hair salon here at the hotel. It’s been a huge blessing for many ladies here!

Friday Night @ Intermissions

 

At 7:15 PM the middle and high school missionary kids made their way into our meeting room for the Friday night youth program of Intermissions 2023! 

It was a great night of worship and time in the Word.

And ALOT of fun starting the crafts!
